The best way to solve the world’s environmental problems is to increase the cost of fuel for cars and other private vehicles. To what extent do you agree or disagree?
Nowadays, the environmental problem is a major problem worldwide. Some people believe that the government should increase the rate of fuel for cars and other transports. I disagree with this statement and discuss a few points to tackle this problem.
To begin with, environmental pollution is increasing day by day. Increasing the price of petrol reduces environmental pollution in some cases. In other words, excessive use of cars releases carbon dioxide into the atmosphere, which is detrimental to the environment. However, the increase in the cost of petrol will not stop the environmental problem. The fuel price affects market prices of essential goods, and increasing the prices can affect poor and middle-class families.
On the other hand, the government can take other measures to mitigate these problems. A better solution is to invest in renewable resources like geothermal power, wind energy and solar energy rather than non-renewable resources like coal and petrol. Secondly, by improving public transport and reducing the cost of travelling, the government should encourage the use of public transport. This will help to clean the environment and reduce traffic.
In conclusion, I believe that increasing the fuel cost is not the best solution to this problem. Improving public transport and investing in renewable energy sources are the better alternative solutions.
