Write a Letter to The Mayor, the Head of A Municipal Government

Write a letter to the Mayor, the head of a municipal government, complaining about a situation in which some adolescents let their dogs run wildly, causing a dangerous problem.

Dear Mayor,

I am writing this letter to bring to your attention a situation in our community that requires immediate attention. In the recent past, there have been numerous incidents in which some adolescents have allowed their dogs to run wildly, causing a dangerous situation for the residents of our community.

As you may know, many residents in our community have young children and elderly individuals at risk when dogs are allowed to run free. These untrained and unleashed dogs threaten our residents’ safety, particularly when they chase after them or aggressively approach them. The situation has become so severe that many residents are afraid to take walks in their neighbourhoods.

Additionally, the dogs have caused damage to personal property, such as lawns and gardens, and have disturbed the peace by barking loudly at all-night hours. This has resulted in numerous complaints from residents and has created a hostile living environment for many.

I urge you to take action to address this issue. I suggest that the municipality impose stricter fines for owners who allow their dogs to run free and that the local animal control enforces the laws more rigorously. Furthermore, it would be beneficial to conduct educational programs in the community to raise awareness about responsible pet ownership and the importance of keeping dogs on a leash.

I believe these steps will help create a safer and more peaceful community for all residents. I look forward to hearing from you and to your prompt action on this matter.

Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Sincerely,

IELTSFever
