Some People Think that Museums Should Be Enjoyable Places to Entertain People

Some people think that museums should be enjoyable places to entertain people, while others believe that the purpose of museums is to educate. Discuss both views and give your own opinion

It is irrefutable that the museum is considered a bank of knowledge and represents the core of the past, which has immense benefits on the lifestyle of the individuals. The museum should be changed and decorated into a recreational area so that people tend to entertain themselves, while others think that foundations are only utilized for educational purposes. However, both arguments should be properly investigated before concluding.

The former view deems that art and science galleries are informative, it becomes a bit mundane to the young generation due to ample restrictions; if a museum should change the theme of entertainment, eventually more individual keens to spend their quality time inside the galleries rather than others sort of activities which they perform outside. For instance, introducing some interactive programs based on true stories like stage shows or live concerts thus leads to engaging the audience in tons so that they easily enhance their cognitive skills. To add it, museums should be distributed into several sections for every age group of people and covered with the possible amenities as well as activities, thus leading to youngsters and old age people consuming their valuable time to explore the certain concepts about the past.

However, the opposite camp also has some solid grounds to defend its point of view; individuals visit historical places like museums and old buildings which recognize the history of the past; these places should be preserved for their roots of culture for the upcoming generation, which they easily get familiar with an ancient story. Put in other words, if the infrastructure of museums should be changed into amusement places, all the crucial and valuable content about the history would be diminished. For example, in India, there are integral art galleries which have real evidence of ancient history; if these precious elements like sculptures and paintings shifted with others, which causes major consequences in the term of the reputation of museums would be downgraded worldwide. In addition, science building should be served with accurate knowledge in a good manner, thus leading to upcoming generation comes with possible information despite games activities.

In conclusion, I am of the opinion that there is a good argument for and against the museum. Personally, museums help to promote a country’s cultural heritage as well as national pride. Therefore art should be accessible to people with nominal changes, but the idea of reconstructing the museum has some negative outcomes even if it should be preserved.
