Fossil fuel, such as coal, oil, and natural gas – Writing Task 2

Fossil fuel, such as coal, oil, and natural gas, is extensively used in many countries that cause harm to the environment. The use of alternative sources of energy, including wind and solar power, however, is being encouraged in many countries. Is this a positive or negative development?

Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own experience or knowledge.

INTRODUCTION

Conventional fuels have been largely used by some nations and this is causing great damage to the environment. On the other hand, the substitutes of fossil fuels have been recommended by several nations like solar power, wind energy to save the environment from damage. This is a viable solution and it has a good impact on the environment because natural sources are cheaper than the non-renewable sources.

PARAGRAPH-1

Firstly, conventional fuels create carbon dioxide emissions in a great deal. The emission of carbon dioxide particles from the vehicles pollutes the environment. It has a great impact on biodiversity and these sources are becoming the cause of extinction of some species. So, non-renewable sources are a real threat to the environment. For example, when toxic gases mix in the air and pollute the environment. This happens mostly in metropolitan cities like Delhi, Mumbai which are largely polluted by burgeoning vehicles on the road, that emit these harmful gases.

PARAGRAPH-2

On the other hand, substitutes for these fossil fuels have been encouraged by many countries. Natural sources can make the environment pollution free. Renewable sources like wind energy, solar power do not emit carbon dioxide and these are environmentally friendly and provide pollution free environment to its inhabitants. Apart from it, these are cheaper sources of energy. For example, people travel largely and usage of fossil fuels is to a great extent. Besides, producing toxic gases, these also enhance the financial burden of people. Alternatively, solar power or wind energy does not cost people as an arm and a leg. So, these are safe fuels and have fewer environmental hazards.

CONCLUSION

In conclusion, alternative sources of energy are a good option to save the environment from the critical hazards and can also save rare species, being cheap in nature it eases people’s financial burden.

so This is the End of the Writing Task 2 (Fossil fuel, such as coal, oil, and natural gas – Writing Task 2)
